AKS MINI — EMS AKS REBORN, NOW POLYPHONIC
The original EMS Synthi AKS was a briefcase legend — the synth Pink Floyd used on "Dark Side of the Moon" and that Brian Eno relied on for his most adventurous work. The AKS MINI distils that legacy into a portable polyphonic analog synthesizer with programmable patches, a 16-step motion sequencer and a faithful reproduction of the original AKS VCO and VCF circuitry from the '70s.
Three separate oscillators with variable saw and square waveforms feed the legendary AKS filter, with the pure analog signal path preserved end to end. The 27 touch-sensitive keys are surprisingly playable for an instrument this size, and the two-axis joystick — faithful to the original — gives you intuitive performance control over any two parameters you assign.
The realistic digital spring reverb adds inspiring depth without taking up panel real estate. The 16-step motion sequencer with 10 memory slots records knob movements, letting you build evolving patches that play themselves. Extensive play modes (poly and unison) cover everything from chord work to massive unison leads, and full MIDI implementation including NRPN/CC control means the AKS MINI integrates with any modern setup. USB Type-C powering and a sync connector make it studio-ready and gig-portable in equal measure.
