Some recordings need the focus of a cardioid — an acoustic guitar in a less-than-ideal room, a hi-hat over a busy kit. Others need the open, true-to-life response of an omnidirectional — a piano, a string section, room mics for a band. The B-5 ships with both capsules. Swap them in seconds. One investment, both jobs.

The gold-sputtered 18 mm true-condenser capsules deliver a full 20 Hz–20 kHz response with 140 dB max SPL (150 dB with the −10 dB pad engaged). The switchable low-cut filter cuts floor rumble for live capture. Lightweight 90 g pencil body sits cleanly on overheads, drum overheads, and acoustic instruments without dragging the stand.
