Two matched microphones for one stereo picture.
Your piano fills the room. One microphone hears it from a single point, and the recording loses that space. The C-2 gives you two condenser microphones, matched to one another, so you can record in stereo. Piano, drums, backing vocals or a whole ensemble keep their sense of space.
Set up as a pair, or one at a time
Set them up as a stereo pair over a piano or a drum kit. Each has a cardioid capsule that hears the front most, the sides less and the back hardly at all. Use them on their own too, in the studio or on stage.
Ready for quiet and loud
A switchable low-cut filter at 120 Hz removes low-frequency disturbances such as subsonic noise. For very loud sources, such as drums up close, switch in the -10 dB attenuation. The maximum SPL then rises from 140 dB to 150 dB.
On your stands, into your mixer
Both microphones and two stand clamps come in the box. Each is 94 mm long and weighs about 0.09 kg, with 19 dBA self-noise. Connect each microphone over a balanced XLR cable to an input with +48 V phantom power. Press record, and the piano sounds as wide as the room.
