BUGERA took the guitar world by storm in 2008 with its high-powered, all-valve amplifiers, and brought an unheard of level of affordability to the marketplace. The new 1990 and 1960 heads provide all the classic, tube-drenched tone of the British amplifiers that sparked a sonic revolution on both sides of the pond.
Hand-built and sporting 120-Watts of all-valve (tube) performance, the BUGERA 1990 is engineered around a classic 2-channel (Clean, Lead) preamp with three (3) ECC83 tubes. The 5881 output stage features a unique power switch, allowing the amp to run in either triode mode, with its softer breakup and 60-Watt output, or pentode mode for a more aggressive, in-your-face, full power breakup. The onboard digital reverb provides vintage-style reverb without annoying spring “crashes.” Channel switching and reverb can be controlled remotely via the included heavy-duty footswitch. An FX loop and frequency-compensated recording output complete the package.
Also hand-built and boasting 150-Watts, the BUGERA 1960 uses a vintage ’60s preamp design with three (3) ECC83 tubes and dedicated Bass, Mid, Treble and Presence controls. Inputs are provided for Channel 1, with its enhanced treble timbre, and Channel 2, which yields a slightly darker tone. A very useful option is the 1960′s ability to patch the two channels together via a single 1/4″ cable, for a tremendously expanded tonal palette. The EL34 output stage includes a variety of impedance options for matching virtually any speaker enclosure. The BUGERA 1960 also features an FX Loop with true Bypass and its own dedicated Level control.
