Well actually it was Mother Nature who provided the rainy weather, but not enough to dampen the spirits at Brooklyn’s seventh annual Soul Summit Festival. And certainly not enough to douse the smokin’ hot performances by DJ Flawless and DJ Supreme; finalists in the three-week long BEHRINGER DJ Battle to find the best of Soul Summit, 2008.
Working in conjunction with 2mybeat.com and DMC World DJ Championships, BEHRINGER was proud to sponsor a legendary three-week long city-fest, right at the heart of the New York City music scene. Ten worthy DJ’s selected by DMC competed to find the top two contenders.
All got a chance to show their chops on the new DDM4000 Digital DJ Mixer; laying their mixes out to thousands through an all-BEHRINGER sound system comprised of on-stage B412DSP active speakers for monitoring and fills, stacks of B2520 mains and BX1800 subs, powered by EP1500 and EP2500 power amps for front-of house, and lots of BEHRINGER out-board gear. More than enough to cover the expanse of Brooklyn’s historic Fort Greene Monument Park, and the crowds of rain-drenched revelers.
The celebrity judging panel of Grand Wizzard Theodore, Steve Dee and Johnny Juice Rosado had a tough time selecting a winner. Flawless’ Serato skills gave a layered, moody intro, great middle grooves and a bombastic drum solo-loaded finish, but it was Supreme’s vinyl-flipping (really!) set that won the day.
DJ Flawless took home a DDM4000 Digital DJ Mixer, a cash prize and a BEHRINGER Gold Level Artist Endorsement contract. DJ Supreme won the day and a DDM4000 Digital DJ Mixer, full BEHRINGER active loudspeaker system with subs, a cash prize and a Platinum Level Artist Endorsement contract.

Taking the crowd into the evening was BEHRINGER artist and legendary NYC house music master Kevin Hedge. All night long, he relied on the sonic substance of active B412DSP loudspeaker systems to push his mixes and groove Brooklyn through another epic summer city event.
