BEHRINGER extends its line of professional reference studio monitors with the launch of three brand-new active and passive models: the TRUTH B2030A, TRUTH B2030P and TRUTH B2031P. Available as matched pairs only, the monitors are expected to ship in Q4 2003 (B2030A & B2031P) and Q1 2004 (B2030P), respectively.
These studio monitors stand tall as high-resolution, 2-way nearfield systems with ultra-linear frequency response, extremely high-resolution and ferrofluid-cooled tweeters. All models highlight long-throw woofers with special polypropylene diaphragm and deformation-resistant aluminium die-cast chassis, but feature different power ratings custom-tailored to various applications. Studio owners will appreciate the controlled dispersion characteristics and extremely large “sweet spot” made possible with BEHRINGER’s wave guide technology. State-of-the-art wave guide guarantees ultra-linear phase-optimized, low-distortion active or passive frequency crossover for optimized response and excellent stereo imaging regardless of listening position, while vertically and horizontally balanced dispersion characteristics render an unusually large sweet spot and a consistent image-even off axis. Magnetic shielding allows placement near computer and video monitors, while the cabinets are low-resonance, environmentally friendly E1 MDF.
The active model B2030A with fourth-order LINKWITZ-RILEY filters facilitates easy access to the adjustable low-frequency roll-off, high frequency adaptation, and a four-way room compensation adjustment feature which allows for accurate listening even in rooms with challenging acoustics. Servo-balanced 1/4″ TRS and XLR connectors, mute functions and a flexible power mode with automatic standby switching and a peak limiter protection circuitry that prevents overload round out the active type monitors’ professional feature set. An on/off switch is easily accessible on the front-panel.
