We Did It! Infocomm 2010 Comes to a Close.

June 15th, 2010
Eurocom at Infocomm 2010

Behringer's First Infocomm was a success

The EUROCOM launch was a smashing success! While I can’t pick a single, favorite moment of the show, there was a recurring event that I’ll never forget. I can’t recall the number of times our visitors asked a question something like this: “Are you guys the same BEHRINGER that makes guitar amps and microphones and mixers and stuff?”

Of course the answer was “Yes!” and then the questioner was generally delighted to see the EUROCOM brand. And while I won’t name names, many competitors of ours came by the booth to see the new stuff as well. Most were flattering, complimentary… and interested. (Some seemed a little nervous. Some seemed all of the above.)

The debut has received overwhelming approval, and had dealers salivating – “When can we get it?! When can we get it?!” The answer is: soon enough, and thanks for caring. You will be the first to know. :)

So, it’s time to bid Vegas a sad farewell; we’ve felt very welcome and comfortable here. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the answer is “Yes,” we do have plans for next year’s InfoComm. No, I can’t talk about it yet. I can say this, though:

We’re probably going to need a bigger booth!

InfoComm Day Two: What Ships to Vegas, Stays in Vegas

June 11th, 2010

The Handsome CL3564BSo, we had a bit of a SNAFU here at InfoComm this year. (OK, about a dozen, but life is what happens when you’re making other plans). See, we have a TON of new speakers that were delayed in customs. But they’re here now!

So check out these links: we’ve got the CL series of Sound Reinforcement Speakers, the SL series of On-Wall Mounted Speakers, and last-but-not-least, the ST series of In-Ceiling Distributed Speakers. With multiple speaker sizes in each family, that’s around 20 speaker models!

This number came about like all other important EUROCOM decisions: by design. We want to offer our customers the right array of installation options—not enough options would have meant we weren’t servicing our customers to the fullest; while too many options could have proved bewildering.

I suppose if there’s a silver lining in the grey cloud of shipping holdups, it’s that folks who already visited our booth on the first day had another incentive to come back!

I was able to find a quieter moment at the show today to upload a bunch of new photos to our Facebook page.

And I’d like to give a shout out to our supporters over on Facebook, almost 9000 fans, by the way. A lot of our customers are discovering us there, which means more community, and of course, direct dialogue with our fans.  Become a fan if you haven’t already!

One more day to go! More to come!

Infocomm 2010: Day One is Done, and was 90% Efficient!

June 10th, 2010

So, far and away, the biggest hit of the EUROCOM line is the fact that we’ve “gone green.” The fact that many of our new products run at a staggering 90% efficiency is earning us retweets left and right. But what does it all mean, exactly?

First and most important, it’s all about our use of class-D amplification in conjunction with switch-mode power supplies. If that sounds nerdy and difficult to understand—well, it is. Layman’s terms: the amplifiers in these new products only draw current when they are actually using it, and burn next-to-zero electricity when idle. Furthermore, these products also are lighter weight and cooler-running than their forerunners.

The other big item of the day is our new feedback suppressor. In line with the EUROCOM ”less is more” philosophy, this item is a “set and forget” gem. It has a power button, a Bypass button, and a Reset button. Just hook up the unit, power it on, and any troublesome feedback spikes are automatically eliminated in 1/6th of a second, at up to 32 frequency bands per channel. Word on the show floor is that this item will be incredibly affordable, but I’m not allowed to cite numbers here on the blog. Sorry!

By the way, you should really check the EUROCOM website, if you haven’t already. Our crew worked hard on it!  Oh, and here’s our EUROCOM twitter stream!

More soon.

Live From Las Vegas! InfoComm 2010 Day Zero!

June 9th, 2010

Setting Up The BoothHello from Las Vegas, Nevada!

We’re here at Infocomm to debut our new Eurocom line of commercial install products! This is my 3rd trade show, and the setup period is where it all starts. The 3-day transformation from a grimy warehouse space to the showroom shine of the trade show environment never ceases to amaze me. This time around, the first day of setup was plagued with a lack of air conditioning in the 109 degree Las Vegas heat. I downed a gallon of bottled water in a day, but we got 80% of the booth set up in that first day!

Today, we had a little EUROCOM kickoff event/press shindig that illustrated the new product line (see the EUROCOM twitter stream for lots of details) and gave it a formal introduction to the press. Folks were pleasantly surprised to find that we had product on-hand in the ballroom for tNew Eurocom Gear!hem to see firsthand—before the show had even began! Surprise!

More to come very very soon. Don’t forget, what happens in Vegas stays on YouTube…
