Infocomm 2010: Day One is Done, and was 90% Efficient!
June 10th, 2010
So, far and away, the biggest hit of the EUROCOM line is the fact that we’ve “gone green.” The fact that many of our new products run at a staggering 90% efficiency is earning us retweets left and right. But what does it all mean, exactly?
First and most important, it’s all about our use of class-D amplification in conjunction with switch-mode power supplies. If that sounds nerdy and difficult to understand—well, it is. Layman’s terms: the amplifiers in these new products only draw current when they are actually using it, and burn next-to-zero electricity when idle. Furthermore, these products also are lighter weight and cooler-running than their forerunners.
The other big item of the day is our new feedback suppressor. In line with the EUROCOM ”less is more” philosophy, this item is a “set and forget” gem. It has a power button, a Bypass button, and a Reset button. Just hook up the unit, power it on, and any troublesome feedback spikes are automatically eliminated in 1/6th of a second, at up to 32 frequency bands per channel. Word on the show floor is that this item will be incredibly affordable, but I’m not allowed to cite numbers here on the blog. Sorry!
By the way, you should really check the EUROCOM website, if you haven’t already. Our crew worked hard on it! Oh, and here’s our EUROCOM twitter stream!
More soon.
