Meytal Cohen
Born and Raised in Israel, Meytal Cohen is professionally trained on drums and percussion by world-class musicians and is a graduate of the LA Music Academy. Her fluency in the genres of Rock, Funk, Jazz, and Afro-Cuban contribute to her unique style of Metal. She began playing drums at the age of 18 at the same time she was drafted into the Israeli Defense Forces for two years. Soon after she was released from duty she then relocated to Los Angeles and enrolled at the LA Music Academy to pursue a career in drumming.
Meytal performed a 21 city tour in Australia with the former rock/metal/classical fusion group band “Metaphor”. This band also played in some of the most prestigious theatres and art centers of the country and played several television shows including “The Kerrianne Kennerly Show”. Shortly after the group’s demise she became a freelance drummer and has recently done some nationwide tours including a Puerto Rico tour with the all girl Led Zeppelin cover band “Moby Chick” followed by a Mexico tour with “Dali”. She has also been caught on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live Show” with the band “Chromeo” as well as a show for the PGA in South Carolina, featured on national television. Meytal has also recorded on a track featured in the major motion picture “The Heartbreak Kid” featuring Ben Stiller. She is currently working on a solo project and is gaining worldwide exposure on the net.
