In a recent interview featured on LaBoiteNoireduMusicien.com, the internationally acclaimed artist Marc Cerrone, known in Europe simply as “Cerrone”, discussed the release of his new album, “Variations of Supernature.” Regarded as one of the most influential European contributors to disco and dance music, Cerrone received global attention for his previous releases, such as “Love in C Minor,” “Supernature,” and others. In the interview, Cerrone discusses the production of his new album, and cites the fact that he specifically chose the Behringer SX4882 mixing boards for the project. “The features and specifically the preamps are simply incredible,” Cerrone commented regarding his experience with the SX4882. Cerrone has now sold over 30 million albums worldwide, and is currently preparing a mega-show in Paris entitled “La Defense.” The show will feature over a hundred musicians, and is set to premiere July 3rd 2010!
Legendary drummer Gary Novak recently performed at Seattle’s Jazz Alley with Robben Ford. I thought this was a great opportunity to not only catch a great show, but also to schmooze. A big part of success in this industry is the art of the schmooze. Perhaps I’ll do another post on that later. Anyhow, Gary is a new BEHRINGER endorser, and networking with him has opened up endorsement talks with Robben, Jimmy Haslip and Mike Landau.
An old childhood friend of mine, Gary Novak is one of the best drummers in the business. He has had the tremendous fortune to work with Chick Corea, Alanis Morrisette, Bob Berg and countless others. Joining me for the concert was my wife Laurie, KJ Sawka (Another one of our endorsers) and his fiancé Corianne. (That’s Gary in the middle.) Gary has been using a new XENYX USB mixer to dial in his in-ear monitor mixes during performances.
Gary introduced us to Robben, who is of course, absolutely exceptional. We also got a chance to speak with bassist Jimmy Haslip and guitarist Mike Landau regarding BEHRINGER and BUGERA. We are looking forward to BEHRINGER reviews from each of them!
More on these relationships as they develop!
Roger Filgate knows his way around a studio just as well as a fretboard. His latest work, “Worlds Within,” is a tasty, high-calorie sampler platter of all the sounds and textures that the guitar has to offer.
Or, should I say “that the guitars have to offer.” Roger used no less than 6 guitars on the album, (7 if you count the lap steel) showcasing a diversity of tones and styles that – in the wrong hands – could come across as scatterbrained. Perhaps surprisingly, “Worlds Within” reads as a remarkably cohesive body of work that still compels after repeated listening.
“I recorded my new album ‘Worlds Within’ on the BEHRINGER 2442FX mixing board and really had amazing results. It’s a very clean sounding board, loaded with features that are easy to use at an unbelievable price – big bang for the buck!”
The clarity of the board really shows when engineered by hands as seasoned as Roger’s. One spin of the disc audibly showcases the nuanced detail of Roger’s technique and guitar choices. Now bitten by the BEHRINGER bug, Roger has added our K3000FX keyboard amp for his live shows!
