Senior Engineer, Software
Location: Manchester, United Kingdom
Responsibilities:
- To handle all software aspects of the design, development, and continuous improvement of state of the art professional digital audio systems for the live performance arena
- Liaise with customers, distributors (internal and external) and sales and marketing personnel to understand requirements
- Produce mock-up designs to meet those requirements
- Write specifications for approval
- Develop test harnesses to prove designs
- Implement the designs and integrate with the rest of the system
- Carry out final tests and document accordingly
- Communicate effectively at all times with other specialist team members
Requirements:
- Educated to at least degree level in software, electronics or a relevant engineering discipline
- Candidates must have at least five years experience of the following: C++; Embedded systems development; Real-Time software development; UML, Object-Oriented design
- Candidates must have experience of at least three of the following: Linux or Embedded Linux; WindowsCE/Windows Embedded, preferably including Board Support Package generation and/or driver development; Low-level Ethernet programming - TCP/IP, UDP, Multicast, IGMP, VoIP, Ethernet switch control; Low-level hardware programming - control and interface to FPGAs, CPLDs etc.; Linux Kernel drivers; PCM digital audio using SHARC-based DSP; GUI and graphical design; OpenGL, DirectFB or DirectX7; USB or graphics drivers; Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of professional Audio Software/Hardware
- Capable of working independently
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels
