The TRUTH
When it comes to your recordings, you want honesty. In fact, considering how important your music is, you should demand it! That’s why we designed the B2030P Reference Monitors to speak nothing but the TRUTH. They sound great hooked up to your stereo or your video surround system, and are critical tools for any recording studio—where every note you play or sing is "under the microscope."Active vs. Passive
Active monitors are designed to take all the guesswork out of matching speakers with amplifiers and crossover networks (among other things), and provide a “turnkey” solution for exceptional sound in the recording studio. We make them, we love them, and we sell truckloads of them! But there is a place for passive studio monitors, too.
Significant applications for passive monitors include surround-sound theater, stereo systems, computer workstations, etc. Or, maybe you have a stack of high-quality power amps just sitting around collecting dust. TRUTH B2030P passive studio monitors are a quantum leap from those bookshelf box speakers you may currently be using.
Built on a Legacy
The TRUTH B2030P passive monitor has all the great features of the TRUTH B2030A active monitor with one exception; you provide the amplification. Due to their high-resolution performance, B2030P 2-way reference studio monitors are perfect for nearfield monitoring applications: from small mixing environments to multi-channel surround setups. Our TRUTH monitors have been so wildly successful that we’ve sold thousands upon thousands of them to some of the most critical ears on the planet.Don’t Let the Size Fool You
Despite its small size, the TRUTH B2030P provides ultra-linear frequency response from 75 Hz to 21 kHz. The internal crossover point is fixed at 2.3 kHz for optimal performance of the two-way system. And the B2030P can handle input levels up to 100 watts.Rock-Solid Bass
Bookshelf-style home stereo speakers can really fool you when it comes to bass output, mainly because they are not designed for critical listening applications. That’s why audio/video engineers and producers listen to projects through studio reference monitors or studio-grade headphones. The B2030P’s long-throw 6.75" polypropylene-diaphragm woofer delivers smooth, deep bass all the way down to 75 Hz.Why the Polypropylene Woofer?
We’re glad you asked. Polypropylene is light and strong, enabling the speaker cone to respond very quickly to fast transient peaks. This low-mass cone material is also much stiffer than paper, important for not only maintaining bass content integrity, but critical for midrange accuracy and definition. The deformation-resistant aluminum die-cast chassis maintains suspension integrity and provides highly efficient voice-coil cooling, even under extreme operating conditions.Non-Fatiguing, Wide “Sweet Spot”
B2030P’s HF (High Frequency) content comes courtesy of an ultra high-resolution 0.75" ferrofluid-cooled tweeter mounted on our proprietary wave-guide. While some of our competitor’s studio monitors have a highly focused “sweet spot” (the optimal listening position for a pair of loudspeakers), our wave-guide is designed to create a much more generous, broader listening zone. That means you won’t wear a hole in the carpet in that one spot where everything sounds great. You are free to move around inside the stereo image to find the ideal spot in the mix for subtle instrument or effects placement opportunities.
You also won’t suffer the ravages of “monitor fatigue-syndrome,” an ailment that comes from listening to harsh high-mids and treble content for hours on end, even during those all-night mix-down sessions that can really test your nerves.
