Wenn Geld- und Platzmangel das Problem ist, dass zwischen Dir und einer ganzen Sammlung von Vintage-Bass-Verstärkern und Effekten steht, dann ist der BASS V-Amp die Lösung. Er beinhaltet 32 Verstärker-Modelle, 23 Lautsprecher-Modelle und 16 klassische Effekte.
Alle Klassiker nach Wunsch
Die 32 Verstärker-Modelle im BASS V-AMP sind in drei Gruppen unterteilt:
ACOUSTIC, Keyboard und GUITAR. Dreh einfach am Knopf und wähle das entsprechende Modell aus, und Du erhaltst eine Simulation der besten akustischen und elektrischen Gitarrensound von den 1950er bis heute. Bei der Wahl eines Verstärker-Modells wird auch automatisch eine Lautsprecherbox gewählt. Aber wenn Du ein anderes Modell bevorzugst, geh' einfach auf EDIT>CABINETS, benutze dann die UP/DOWN-Taster und Du kannst zwischen den 15 Optionen wählen.
Wie mit Deinem aktuellen Bassverstärker hast Du eine 3-Band-Klangreglung, Regler für GAIN, VOLUME und MASTER-VOLUME. Es gibt sogar einen Kompressor-Regler für einen dichten, warmen Klang mit einstellbarem Attack. Wenn Du den TAP-Regler gedrückt hältst, wird aus dem TREBLE-Regler ein PRESENCE-Regler. Hiermit wird ein Filter für hohe Frequenzen aktiviert, der Höhen verstärken oder absenken kann.
Top Tone—In Full Effect
Der BASS V-AMP bietet FLANGER, CHORUS, REVERB, DELAY und 12 weitere wunderbare Digitaleffekte. Der Effektanteil kann mit dem Effektregler zum Signal zugemischt werden. Um Effektparameter zu verändern drücke einfach den TAP-Knopf rhythmisch, damit kann die Delay-Zeit und die LFO-Zeit verändert werden. Wenn Du ein MIDI-Pedal wie z.B. das Behringer FCB1010 benutzt, kannst Du zusätzlich auf einen Wahwah-Effekt zugreifen. Die Filtercharakteristik kann durch den EDIT-Mode verändert werden.Presets
All diese Soundelemente sind auf 125 verschiedene Presets, unterteilt auf 25 Bänke, gespeichert. Der Zugriff auf die Bänke erfolgt durch die BANK/UP/DOWN-Taster. In jeder Bank kann mit den Tastern A bis E auf die verschiedenen Presets zugegriffen werden.Du kannst natürlich auch Deine eigenen Presets erstellen und speichern. Beginne dazu mit einem fertigen Preset und nimm dann Veränderungen vor: Verstärker, EQ, Effekt etc. Die Preset-LED beginnt zu blinken und signalisiert, dass das Preset gespeichert werden kann. Halte hierzu den Preset-Knopf für zwei Sekunden gedrückt. Wenn die LED aufhört zu blinken ist das Preset gespeichert. Und zu guterletzt verfügt der V-Amp noch über ein Stimmgerät und ein Noise-Gate. Zusammengefasst ist er das Schweizer Messer für Home-Recording-Enthusiasten und für Bass-Spieler, die mehr als nur einen Sound brauchen.
im studio
Der BASS V-AMP verfügt über einige Konfigurationen, die ihn in einem Studio unentbehrlich machen. Zugang zum Konfigurationsmenü erhält man durch das Drücken der Taster B und D. Dann kann man mit den Tastern BANK UP/DOWN die verschiedenen Konfigurationen auswählen.
Bei der Benutzung von Kopfhörern schaltet der V-Amp in den Studio-Modus 1 (S1). Dieser Stereo-Modus arbeitet hervorragend sowohl für Monitoring als auch für Aufnahmen mit Effekten, Verstärker- und Lautsprechersimulationen. Die 3-Band-Klangreglung ist dann nicht im Signalweg, aber die meisten Aufnahme-Programme – wie energyXT – haben ihre integrierte Klangreglung.
Im Studiomodus 2 (S2) sendet der V-Amp ein Signal mit Verstärker- und Lautsprechersimulation, aber nur der rechte Ausgang hat Effekte. Du kannst die beiden Ausgänge auf unterschiedliche Spuren aufnehmen oder nur den trockenen linken Ausgang aufnehmen und den rechten Ausgang zum Abhören benutzen.
auf der Bühne
Der BASS V-AMP hat drei Konfigurationen für den Live-Betrieb: Man kann ihn direkt an einen Verstärker anschließen, man kann ihn direkt an ein Mischpult anschließen oder beides. Live-Modus 1 ist die beste Einstellung, wenn die Ausgänge direkt an ein Mischpult angeschlossen werden sollen. In dieser Einstellung sind Verstärker- und Lautsprechersimulation, Effekte und Klangreglung im Signalweg.
Live-Modus 2 wird benutzt, wenn der V-Amp an zwei Gitarrenverstärker auf der Bühne angeschlossen werden soll. In dieser Einstellung gibt es keine Lautsprechersimulation, die Gitarrenverstärker klingen unverändert. In dieser Konfiguration werden die Verstärker auf der Bühne mit Mikrofonen abgenommen, um das Signal auf die Hauptanlage zu bringen.
Im Live-Modus 3 kann der linke Ausgang zu einem Bühnenverstärker geschickt werden, um auf der Bühne gehört zu werden, während der rechte Ausgang mit dem Mischpult der Hauptanlage verbunden wird.
Hervorzuheben ist auch, dass man den TAP-Knopf drücken kann, während man den GAIN-Regler dreht, um die Eingangsempfindlichkeit an den Ausgang der Pickups anzupassen. Wenn die CLIP-Anzeige aufleuchtet, sollte die Eingangsempfindlichkeit reduziert werden.
Veni, MIDI, Vici
Der BASS V-AMP ist komplett ausgestattet, um in eine MIDI- (Musical-Digital-Interface)-Umgebung eingebunden zu werden. Er kann in Echtzeit von einem Computer oder einem MIDI-Fusskontroller gesteuert werden. Die Midi-Anschlüsse sind standard-5-Pol-Stecker.
Der MIDI-IN-Anschluss empfängt Midi-Befehle. Er kann im EDIT-Modus eingestellt werden, indem man den A-Taster drückt und dann die Pfeiltasten betätigt. MIDI OUT/THRU sendet MIDI-Daten zu einem Computer. Man kann sowohl Preset-Daten als auch Parameter-Wechsel übermitteln. Eine Menschen benutzen den V-Amp auch als Fernbedienung für Parameter an ihrer DAW oder VST-Instrumenten, das ist oft einfacher als die Bedienung mit der Maus. In der Stellung MIDI THRU sendet der V-Amp keine eigenen Midi-Befehle, sondern leitet die Midi-Daten aus dem MIDI-In-Anschluss weiter.
So viel Klang, so wenig Probleme

Without doubt the Bass V-Amp is packed with loads of great sounds that have been carefully chosen to enhance your performance. They range from the fat and robust to the over-effected and mildly irritating with just about everything in between! And the accuracy of the modeled sounds is pretty impressive, neatly reproducing the distinctive elements that are associated with the relevant models. I was particularly impressed with the British Pop setting that takes you back to the 60s and the sound of a hot Vox AC100. Also good is the rock 2 setting that revitalized SVT Pro II from Ampeg, a Goliath in physical stature, as well as sound delivery. It contains a degree of front-end distortion (over-driven valve preamp) and this emulation is so good it will have everything that’s not bolted down rattling, just like the real thing, even at this vastly reduced volume! For a bit of sub bass you can go for the more modern sounding and appropriately named Bottom End, as this works well for hip hop and breaksy tracks. […]
Our first encounter with Behringer’s new bass baby has certainly been a pleasurable experience, and although it’s been designed with portability in mind, its greatest benefit is found in the home recording studio where the expense of the ‘Pro’ version might be difficult to justify; there’s far more than you could ever really hope to use during a performance, anyway! It’s extremely practical, and having the ability to completely mix and match amps, cabs and effects presents a mind-boggling array of sounds, and all available at the click of a switch and the trimming of a pot. Its appeal is further enhanced by the offer of a more general approach to other instrument use, so if you’re a bass player who likes to record at home and play other instruments in the process, this has to be an ideal purchase.
The Bass V-Amp can certainly do a lot of things, and does them all well. And it will remain up to the minute by using future EPROM updates for the very latest features. At a little under 150 Pounds, it offers excellent value for money, so if you want to expand your sound potential, be it for recording or just for personal enjoyment, then this is well a listen.
SOUND ON SOUND
BEHRINGER’s cost-effective take on amp and cabinet modeling and effects is now available for bass players.
The basic quality of the sounds the BASS V-AMP can produce, and their variety, is impressive. I especially liked the way subtle down-stream effects worked with alternative amps and speaker models. The amp simulations provide a foundation for a variety of sounds, and enable more subtle use of the multi-effects. On their own, too, without any effects, the amp and speaker simulations are fascinating and worthwhile. I remember in my youth occasionally hiring an old Fender Bassman 100 valve amp and a 1 x 15 cabinet. I loved sound it made—wonderfully warm, yet with punch and clarity—and I never really achieved the same with any other backline. I have a gig this evening, and I suspect I’ll have this new toy staring up at me from the stage!
Pros: versatile, great sounds, inexpensive.

Please note that this update is intended for use with the BASS V-AMP only and will not function with any other models.
To update your BASS V-AMP you will need to replace the original EPROM in the BASS V-AMP with a new EPROM which has been pre-programmed with the downloaded datafile.
If you do not have the means to write this datafile to a blank EPROM, then you can order a pre-programmed EPROM from your nearest BEHRINGER authorised service centre.
If you have further questions or require more detailed information we ask you to contact BEHRINGER customer support.

You must remove the cover of your BEHRINGER unit to add/exchange the EPROM. Electrical current from power cables can be hazardous. DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER OF YOUR BEHRINGER UNIT UNLESS YOU ARE QUALIFIED TO DO SO. To avoid personal injury or equipment damage, disconnect the attached power cords before you open the unit cover.
